Over the past few years I’ve been asked a lot of questions about my company and the wedding photography process. So here are some of the top questions and answers from the past few years. I hope you find this helpful.
Where are you located?
I am located in Johnson City Tn.
Is your company licensed and insured?
Yes, our LLC is both licensed and insured for up to $2,000,000.00.
What kind of payments do you except?
I currently take checks.
What camera gear do you use?
I currently use a Cannon 5D Mark III. I also use 50 1.2mmL, 70-200 2.8L, 24-70 2.8L .
Do you have travel fees?
Yes, for most event outside of the Tri-Cities I charge a $1 a mile one way.
Do you shoot multiple weddings per day?
No, I only shoot one wedding per day. For me it’s an all day process and deserves 100% of my time.
How much is your retainer payment?
The retainer payment is 30% of the total. The 30% secures me for that date. There are no other shoots on the day of a wedding. You are my only priority. The 30% is none refundable.
Do you photograph destination weddings?
Absolutely! If you give us a call or send an email with those specific needs we can bundle up a package that includes what is most important to you and present you with a offer for consideration.
Do you offer discounts and specials?
Yes, from time to time I offer monthly specials as well as bridal show specials. I also offer discounts for for all active and retired service members as well as fire and police. If you are willing to protect and sacrifice for others, it is an honor to work with you. Please check my specials page for all updated information.
Do you do photograph anything other than weddings?
Yes. I also photograph family portraits, senior portraits, pet portraits, corporate head shots, real-estate, fine art landscapes, and sporting events for Sports Illustrated.
Do we pay tax on wedding photography?
Yes, as a wedding photographer in Tennessee, I’m required to include 9.75% tax.
Do you shoot weddings with two photographers?
Yes, most of my packages include two photographers at a wedding. We are able to split up if there are two different locations.
What if you get sick before my wedding and can’t make it?
If I get sick or injured before your wedding, my two talented second shooters can shoot the wedding for me. They have over 20 years of experience between the two of them. I will still do all the editing.
Do you shoot engagement session?
Yes, an engagement session last about an hour to an hour and a half. It is a great way to capture beautiful moments in a relaxed environment. We typically shoot on location. If you need any ideas on locations please contact me. I know a lot of great places in the Tri-Cities and Knoxville.
Do you photograph boudoir sessions?
I do not photograph Boudoir sessions. I’d be happy to refer you to another photographer.
Do you photograph Bridal Session?
Yes, this is a great opportunity to capture beautiful images with no stress. A bridal session typically last about an hour to an hour and a half. Feel free to bring your friends.
Do you offer prints or albums?
I offer prints though my online gallery. I also personally design every leather bound album so that each design is unique.
When will we receive our images after our event?
You can expect your images within a 4-6 week window.
Do you carry backup equipment?
Yes, I always have backup equipment just in case my gear fails the day of an event. You can never be to careful.
Do you back up your images after an event?
Yes, I back them up on two hard drives and an online storage cloud. One of the hard drives is stored in a fireproof safe. If disaster strikes or you lose your images. I will have them in a safe place.
Are you a full time photographer?
Yes, this is my full time job and I love it!
Do you prefer if I give you a list of photos I want or would you prefer your own free rein?
I encourage you to tell me things you like about photos. However, I prefer my own free rein on the day of your wedding. Having a list can sometimes prevent some of the best photos that I can offer you basted on my experience.
Are you associate with any groups or organizations?
Yes, I’m currently a member of the “PPA” Professional Photographers of America, as well as the “Integrity Network” here in the Tri-Cities.
Do I have rights to the images?
I extend shared rights to you. This means that you will receive a copyright stating that you may use the images for printing and social media. You may only duplicate the thumb drive for backup repurposes only.
How many images can I expect?
I typically deliver between 600-1000 images.
